Executive Management Team

Mel R. Brashears has been Chairman of the Board since March 2001, and a Director since December 2000. Dr. Brashears joined the Company in September 2000 and is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of iNetWorks Corporation. Previously, he was Sector President and Chief Operating Officer at Lockheed Martin Corporation. Dr. Brashears has over 30 years experience in design and development of products and systems for the worldwide delivery of high-speed data and information. He is a past Chairman, co-Chairman or Director of several companies and corporations. Additionally, he served on the boards of the American Electronics Association, the California State University Foundation, and the University of Southern California's Center for Telecommunications Management. Dr. Brashears is an invited member of the Telecommunications Academy of Russia. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri, where he earned his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in engineering, and where he also taught.

John C. Carson was appointed Chief Executive Officer in April 2005 and continues as President. He is a co-founder of the Company and has served as a Senior Vice President since the Company's inception in 1974. He was a Director from April 1982 to March 2000, and was elected Chief Technical Officer in February 1997, Chief Operating Officer in November 2001, and Director in May 2003.  He has been awarded 15 patents for smart sensors, 3D packaging and signal processing architectures, including neural networks.  Mr. Carson holds a B. S. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

John J. Stuart, Jr. joined the Company in January 1983 as its Manager of Special Projects and Communications, became the Company's Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer in July 1985, a Vice President in June 1995, and Senior Vice President in November 1998. He relinquished the position of Treasurer in February 1995. Effective November 1998, Mr. Stuart re-assumed the position of Treasurer in addition to his other responsibilities. He is a member of the Board of Directors and is Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of both Novalog, Inc. (since October 1995) and MicroSensors, Inc. (since October 1997). Mr. Stuart was Chief Financial Officer of Silicon Film Technologies, Inc. from its organization in August 1998 until May 1999. Mr. Stuart holds a B.S. in Industrial Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
